Bedmas work

This week in maths we have been doing Bedmas. In Bedmas you always have to be very precise so you can get it right, with one slip up you will probably get the question. MAin thing you need to know in Bedmas: Brackets, you always have to do brackets first no matter what. A plus + and  a minus - equal a minus -. In Bedmas it gets very fun and exciting to do e.g doing long questions with a few brackets. I have really enjoyed doing this.

For the last week or so at school we have been doing African inquiry and for that I chose to do an Adobe spark for my inquiry, I decided to do Nigeria for my country. Japanese inquiry     At school for the past two weeks we have been doing the new inquiry for this term (term 4) I have been doing the Japanese inquiry which is very fun because you create your own slide and put Japanese culture and co. On the first 3 slides I put Japanese art which was pretty cool because you get to choose from heaps of different types of art. on the last 3 slides I did Japanese cuisine. First I did a dessert followed by a kind of street food/ casual food and then I chose to do a drink which was Pocari sweat.     Please comment on what I need to work on with my posts and how I could Make them more interesting and fun.

Bricks work

I am currently working on brick number 26, which is converting decimals into percentages, I have to go onto Khan academy to get my brick signed off. Bricks are very fun to do and is a great way of learning, here is a link to get onto the Bricks tracker. Bricks tracker When we do bricks we do a test and then if we don't to decimals well for example you will have to focus on decimal bricks.

Fun term

This term (term 3) has been really fun. I have enjoyed everything this term. One of my highlights has been winter sport, I did Football and we had a pretty good team and we ended up winning. Maths, I have enjoyed maths especially turning tumbles and the basic facts - athon was fun as well. Literacy, I have really enjoyed literacy this term, one of the best lessons was the one about literacy. Inquiry, this terms inquiry has been really fun, I had fun filming as well.

On Phones in the classroom

Last week we had a debate about kids going on their Phones at school, I personally think that they shouldn't allow Phones in classrooms because:

• They could distract students from their work and that means that students wouldn't produce as much work as normal.

• If students have a test and they bring in their Phone, they might use their Phones to cheat in that test.

• Students might use their Phones to get involved in cyber bullying kids at school. Which could lead to a serious issues because parents get very worried about cyber bullying, and then the school will get blamed for letting kids go on their phones at school.

At school in maths today I did translation, reflection and rotation and we did instructions for it as well. First of all we drew a shape on grid paper and then reflected, rotated and translated it and then made instructions for it. This maths task was super fun I really enjoyed it.

I am happy with the goals that I set at the end of 2018, When I chose my goals I thought carefully about them and what I should improve. I reflected back on what I did last year and the things that I didn't do to well and added them onto my goal setting ladder. I am very happy with my ladder that I made And the goals, I think I am doing well with my goals e.g like focusing more and my editing skills in literacy. This was a very fun task to do I am very proud of my work.

  Today at school we did Maori flashcards, this was really fun  but sometimes tricky to figure out what it meant. On google translate it was easier so for the tricky words I used google translate. I enjoyed this task.

Steve jobs inquiry biography

Today at school we did biography's about our inspirational and powerful people for our inquiry. I chose Steve Jobs I chose him because he is very inspirational and powerful, he also created Apple. this was a very fun task and at some points challenging, I really enjoyed it.

today at school we did autodraw, but not just normal autodraw maori autodraw it was super fun. do you know all of them i english.

 

 Here are some pictures from camp. camp was really fun I really enjoyed it. Overall my favourite activity was probably the giant swing.

Today at school we did 5'rs, these are the Marshland school 5'rs: resilience, reciprocity, resourcefulness, respect and reflectiveness. this task was great fun.

Today at school we did our pepeha for 2019. It was so fun we did lots of different things on it. I really enjoyed this task. 

At school a while ago we did a goal setting task for our goals for this school year. This task was fun and kind of tricky, i really enjoyed doing this though.

Today at school we did some graffiti work, we worked with pastels and started off with normal pencils. It was challenging at some points but fun. Overall i really enjoyed this task.
